Like us, some dogs suffer from food neophobia (a fancy term for a reluctance to try new foods), which is why we recommend transitioning your dog to any new food (not just ours) gradually over a 9-day period.
This is the length of time scientists and canine nutritionists expect it can take for your dog to get used to the change in smell, texture and flavour of any new food. Dogs that are more reluctant should be offered a slower, more gentle transition over 12-14 days, starting with just two or 3 kibbles on their usual food.
Another well-tested trick is to try soaking the kibble in warm water for at least 15 minutes first, this releases the aroma and flavour, making it a little more tempting for some.
If they are still not licking their bowl clean after 8 days’ transition (and giving you those ‘More please’ eyes), you must restore their mealtime happiness and we are committed to making sure this happens for their happiest life.
